LEISURE

Exhale...
 WITH OLE WERU.

Last year over the Christmas holidays, I received a few coins as bonus at work and decided
to retreat to my village for a week. Rumours had spread that I was barely making ends meet
in the city under the sun and despite this being the truth, I decided to retain my dignity by
making an unforgettable entrance as the black Bill Gates.

I scouted for a brown leather jacket in Eastleigh, a pair of black jeans and sports shoes and
threw in a red cap which I believed would bring out the colour of my eyes. I was out to give all
the girls and widows in my village sleepless nights.

To top it up, I borrowed a friend’s car and with the stereo system blaring a mix by DJ Demakufu,
I was off to the village.

I drove straight to the most popular village joint and stepped out whilst swinging the car keys
for all to see. I feigned a cold and coughed hysterically, to grab their attention. It worked.
