SACCO LEADERS’ CONVENTION 2018 DETAILS

Theme: “SACCOs Advancing Financial Inclusion in Kenya”.
Dates: 22nd-23rd February, 2018
Venue: Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa, Mombasa
Time: 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on all days
Financial inclusion is a critical enabler for poverty reduction and inclusive growth. It helps poor households improve their lives and spurs economic activity. It has also been identified as an enabler for 7 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Policy makers locally and globally have been embracing financial inclusion as an important development priority. The G20 for instance, made the issue one of its pillars at the 2009 Pittsburgh Summit, and committed to improving financial services for the poor.
In Kenya, financial inclusion has grown by 50% in the last ten years. About 75.3% of Kenyans are now formally included, up from 66.8% in 2013, (The 2016 Fin Access Household Survey).

Thus, the theme for this year’s Convention is; “SACCOs Advancing Financial Inclusion in Kenya.”
Convention Objectives
