The role of the Manager is very crucial in determining the destiny of the organization. Apart from providing the much needed linkage between the Board of Directors, staff and other stakeholders, he/ she has to provide Strategic Leadership to ensure the organization goals and objectives are realized.
The competitive nature of today’s business requires the manager to spearhead the development of realistic business strategies, cascade them down the organization and ensure effective follow- up of the implementation. The ultimate aim is to achieve a competitive edge over competitors in order to attract, maintain and retain customers.
This year’s Managers’ Forum is targeted at C.E.Os, General Managers, Managers and Heads of sections of SACCOs. The theme is “Sustaining Competitive Advantage in SACCOs”. The objective of the forum:
(i) Discuss the roles that C.E.Os and Managers play in the leadership of an organization, (ii) Analyze the communication, implementation and importance of strategy for an organization, (iii) Evaluate the impact of Central Bank’s Monetary Policy on SACCO businesses, (iv) Design strategies of entrenching the position of SACCOs in a devolved government structure, (v) Discuss the management of boardroom politics, (vi) Create a forum for networking.
The forum will have distinguished and renowned speakers in the following areas:
(i) The role of Strategic Leadership in defining organization success, (ii) Enhancing productivity and participation in the organization through effective talent management (iii) The impact of Central Bank’s Monetary Policy on the SACCO business model. (iv) The devolved government structure- A boon or bane for SACCOS?
The venue shall be the Whitesands Hotel, Mombasa from 15th- 18th May, 2012. Participants will be expected at the venue on the evening of 14th May and depart on the morning of 18th May, 2012.
The charge per participant is Kshs. 60, 000 incl. VAT to cater for full Board accommodation, facilitation and training materials. However, you will be required to pay an extra Kshs. 15, 000 to cater for a return air ticket from Nairobi.
